Financial and Personal Advising
We know that finances are a major concern for most college students. The SSS staff will work in partnership with you and the Financial Aid office to help you make sure you are getting financial aid that is available to you. We also want to help you deal with personal issues that may be interfering with your academic focus. We will provide a listening ear and help direct you to on and off campus resources that can provide assistance to you in dealing with those issues.
Assistance with Graduate/Professional
School Search
If you are thinking about pursuing education beyond your Bachelor’s degree, we will be happy to assist you as you search for and apply for admissions into graduate or professional programs. Talk to one of the SSS staff if you are interested in pursuing further education.
Information about Career Options
We will work hand-in-hand with the Career Development Center here on campus to help you explore careers that will fit your interests, skills, and education.
Direct Financial Assistance (Grant Aid)
Each year for Spring Semester, students who are participating in the SSS program will be able to apply for grant aid. These awards can range from $400 to $4,050. Students must be receiving a federal Pell Grant, be an active participant in the SSS program, and meet certain academic criteria to apply for these awards.
