Current Activities

During the summer of 2006, three Children and Family Ministry majors attended the trienniel Children's Spirituality Conference in Chicago, IL. The three students, Carrie Fisher, Terra Martens, and Heidi Schultz, helped with registration and other details of the conference, while also attending many of the 60 seminars. Keynoting the conference were John Westerhoff, author of "Will our Children have Faith" as well as Scottie May and Catherine Stonehouse, leading scholars in the field of minsitry to children.

Holly Allen, director of the Children and Family Ministry program at JBU was a co-chair of the conference.

Last spring Larry Fowler from AWANA International spoke to Dr. Allen's CFM classes and was a guest speaker at a luncheon for Children and Family MInistry majors.

This fall students in the CFM curriculum course will attend a GROUP sponsored workshop entitled "Faith that Sticks" in Springdale.
