Jim Blankenship came to JBU in the Fall of 2002. He primarily teaches classes in Bible. Jim has also taught at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary in Baguio, Luzon, Philippines and at North Central University in Minneapolis, MN.
Jim completed his undergraduate degree in Political Science. His Master’s degree includes concentrations in both HB/OT and in NT studies. His dissertation examines the use made of Rom 13:1-10 by St. John Chrysostom and St. John of Damascus.
Jim has practiced law. He has been very involved in ministry in several local churches, including teaching and preaching. He also occasionally serves as conference speaker.
When he is not preparing for classes or ministry, Jim enjoys training in several martial arts, watching baseball, re-reading the works of Chaim Potok and Flannery O’Connor, and re-watching episodes of The Prisoner.
