Summer Honors Symposium

Our goal for our annual symposium is quite simple. God has gifted a few people with a high degree of intelligence. This is a special group, and at JBU we believe that our scholarly community can do a better job nurturing and developing this God-given talent in our youth. The Summer Symposium is our answer.

The Summer Symposium is a two-week course of study held on the campus of John Brown University in June in which students live in the dormitories, study a particular topic with John Brown University professors, and receive three hours of college credit. Students must be entering the next school year as high school seniors.

We invite no more than twenty-four students to participate each year; this decision is based on GPA, class rank, and/or standardized test scores (PSAT, PACT, etc.) and slots will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis—those applications postmarked before Valentines’ Day will receive preferential treatment but will not be guaranteed admission.

The total cost of the two-week symposium (including tuition, room, board, fieldtrips and entertainment) is $690.00.
