Academic

Academic: Competitive

Admissions acceptance and scholarship application required. Scholarship based on information received by January 17.
*Only one academic scholarship per student.

Presidential Scholarship ($17,500)

5 awards annually, nominated to Honors Scholars Program

Freshman requirements:
ACT 29 and above or SAT 1280 and above
3.9 or above cumulative high school GPA based on 4.0 scale
Demonstrated leadership ability
Strong Christian character

Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA by end of freshman year
Transfers: Not available

Chancellor’s Scholarship ($8,750)

30 awards annually, Nominated to Honors Scholars Program

Freshman requirements:
ACT 29 and above or SAT 1280 and above
3.7 or above cumulative high school GPA based on 4.0 scale
Demonstrated leadership ability
Strong Christian character

Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA by end of freshman year
Transfers: Not available

National Merit Finalist Award ($10,000)

Limited number of awards each year
Recipient of National Merit Finalist Award

Excellence in Engineering Award ($7,500)

9 awards annually

Freshman requirements:
ACT 29 and above or SAT 1300 and above
Engineering major
Strong Christian character

Renewal: 3.0 cumulative GPA, continue as an engineering major
Transfers: Not available

Academic: Merit-Based

Admissions acceptance and scholarship application required. Scholarship based on information received by May 1.

Trustee’s Award ($5,500)

Freshman requirements:
ACT 28 or higher composite score or
SAT 1240 or higher combined math/verbal score
Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA
Transfers Requirements: 3.6 cumulative GPA with 24+ transfer hours

Dean’s Award ($4,000)

Freshman requirements:
ACT 27 composite score or
SAT 1210-1230 combined math/verbal score
Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA
Transfer Requirements: 3.5 cumulative GPA with 24+ transfer hours

Professor’s Award ($2,000)

Freshman requirements:
ACT 25-26 composite score or
SAT 1130-1200 combined math/verbal score or
Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA
Transfer Requirements: 3.4 cumulative GPA with 24+ transfer hours

 

 

Recognition & Achievement

First Year Achievement Awards

Good for one year only.
Admissions acceptance and scholarship application required. Scholarships based on information received by May 1.
*One achievement award in addition to one academic scholarship can be awarded.

Top Graduate Award ($1,000)

High School Valedictorian or Salutatorian

Legacy Award ($500)

Unlimited number of awards each year
Dependent of JBU graduate or Sibling of current JBU student

Family Christian Service Award ($500 - $1000)

Unlimited number of awards each year
Parents employed in full-time Christian service
FAFSA required

Church Matching Award (Up to $500)

Unlimited number of awards each year

Limited funding is available. Funds reserved for Pell Grant recipients demonstrating the highest need. Award deadline is April 1.
