Booster Club

2012-13 Welcome

The John Brown University Athletics Booster Club has a tremendous history of providing encouragement and support to our coaches and our student-athletes. We feel blessed in all areas – quality coaches, facilities, equipment and programs! We are very thankful for the blessing of the Bill George Arena for our basketball and volleyball programs! The addition of the press box and dugouts last spring has enhanced our soccer venue and the new golf green has been built and is ready for JBU golf team practice this fall. What a great time to be a part of Golden Eagle athletics!

Our teams were very successful last year – both on and off the fields and courts! Our men’s basketball team qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for the 6th time in school history, while also setting the highest finish in the conference standings (tied for 2nd in SAC) and tying the school record for wins in a season with 24! Our men’s soccer team finished 3rd in the SAC – the highest finish in 10 years! Additionally, West Loveland, a senior golfer, placed first individually at the Central Baptist tournament – beating the No. 1 ranked golfer in the NAIA at that point in the season.

And off the playing venue, we had 23 students named JBU scholar-athletes (must be a junior or senior status and maintain a 3.2 GPA or higher) and seven of our programs were named as NAIA Scholar Teams (3.0 or higher team GPA) – what an honor! The student speaker chosen for the 2012 Spring Commencement was a student-athlete and two out of three of the speakers at senior chapel were student-athletes. Our student-athletes continue to get the job done athletically and in the classroom; all while leading and participating in many community service outreaches. The mission of the Golden Eagle Booster Club is to give support to all of the JBU intercollegiate programs. We want our campus, local community, and alumni to be proud of being a supporter of John Brown University Athletics.
