Try-out Information
Try-out before judges: Friday, September 9, 2011,
at 4:30pm in Bill George Arena
Participation Requirements:
- Proof of medical insurance and signed Medical Authorization and Release Form (Must be received by noon on Monday, September 5, 2011)
- Try-out Application (Must be received by noon on Monday, September 5, 2011)
- Attendance at try-outs on Friday, September 9
Try-out Purpose:
The main purpose of the try-out process is to select the best overall individuals to help fill to mascot positions of Goldie and Eagle. We are looking for students who demonstrate, first and foremost, a desire for personal and spiritual growth, as well as teach-ability and spirit, enthusiasm and creativity, academic commitment, and a drive for team excellence.
Skill Requirements:
- Expressions
Each participant will be given various scenarios to respond to such as, “We just lost the big game!”, “We just won the big game!”, “Regal is sad.”, and “Goldie is being taunted by another mascot!”, etc.
- Skit
Each participant must perform a one minute skit highlighting your capabilities as a mascot
It is recommended that each participant bring any props needed to enhance performance.
Judging Criteria:
Each category may be judged on any or all of the following criteria:
- Creativity
- Body Language
- Entertainment Value
- Use of Props
What to Wear:
You will be wearing the mascot uniform during your tryout.
