Terry Gains All-American Recognition
Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 23, 2006) — John Brown senior point guard Alex Terry’s illustrious career has ended with an NAIA All-America honorable mention accolade. Terry, a 6-1 senior from Cedar Hill, Texas, was named to the list earlier this week. He is the JBU career assists leader with 725 and ranks 18th in scoring with 1,042 points.
Terry was an integral part of John Brown’s 2005 NAIA National Championship team, and was a key to the Golden Eagles’ return to the national tournament in 2006. In John Brown’s first-round tournament loss to Azusa Pacific last Wednesday, Terry had one of the best games of his career: 16 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and just 3 turnovers.
He broke the previous JBU career assist record of 409 in his junior season. Also in 2004-05, he set the school record for assists in a season with 198. In 2003-04, Terry posted a dazzling 3.2 assist-to-turnover ratio with 161 assists and 50 turnovers. His career assist-to-turnover ratio is 2.7.
