Golf Opens Spring Season with Seventh Place Finish
Ft. Smith, Ark. (February 22, 2011) — The JBU men’s golf team finished seventh out of eight teams
during the two-day Lions Classic hosted by University of Arkansas Ft. Smith at
the Hardscrabble Country Club.
The Golden Eagles finished the par 70, 6412 yard course, with
a two-day total of 671. The NAIA’s
topped ranked Stars of Oklahoma City finished first with a score of 592.
Individually for JBU, junior West Loveland led the team
after shooting 159 (85, 74). He finished
25th overall. Junior Matt
Brooker finished 28th overall with a 160 (85, 75), and sophomore
Nathan Sudheimer shot a 169 (88, 81) to finish tied 34th. Sophomore Cameron Lindsey and freshman Dallas
Boote finished with a 183 and 192 respectively.
The men return to competition March 28-29 when they participate in the Lyon (Ark.) Invitational taking place at The Course at Eagle Mountain in Batesville, Arkansas.
