Todd Bowden

Bowden enters his 17th year as Director of Athletic Training at John Brown University. His responsibilities include the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries incurred by JBU student athletes. Bowden is also an associate professor and teaches the Sports Medicine Program within JBU's Department of Kinesiology.

Upon graduating from college and becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Bowden began his career at the University of Arkansas as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. He worked with the Arkansas Razorbacks football team, who participated in the 1987 Orange Bowl. After a one-year stay, Bowden became the assistant athletic trainer at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and worked with the men's basketball team, who won the Southwest Conference Championship in 1988. After two years, Bowden returned to Northwest Arkansas and worked in several area physical therapy clinics developing athletic training services for all the area high school athletic teams. Bowden also had the privilege of working with JBU's men's basketball team who won the 2005 NAIA Division I National Championship.

A native of Clarksville, Arkansas, Bowden received a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Arkansas in 1986, and a Master of Science from the University of Arkansas in 1992.

Bowden's wife, Elizabeth, is an audiologist and a 1986 graduate of Louisiana State University and 1989 graduate of the University of Memphis. Todd and Elizabeth are the proud parents of two girls, 10-year old Kate and 8-year old Claire.
