Academic: Competitive

Scholarship Event: February 15-16, 2015

Formal Invitation will be mailed to students who qualify for the Scholarship Event.

- Acceptance for admission and scholarship application required.
- Scholarship based on information received by Jan. 16.*
- Students may receive only one academic scholarship.
- JBU does not evaluate the writing portion of ACT nor SAT when determining 
   scholarship eligibility.
- The following amounts are for the 2015-2016 school year.


**International students are ineligible for competitive scholarships. See JBU's International Student Financial Aid page for more information.

**Transfer students are ineligible for competitive scholarships but are eligible to receive merit-based scholarships.

 

Presidential Scholarship ($24,500)

• ACT/SAT & GPA Criteria:  ACT 29 (SAT 1280) – 3.9+ GPA
                                            ACT 30/31 (SAT 1330-1390) – 3.7+ GPA
                                            ACT 32/33 (SAT 1400-1480) – 3.6+ GPA
                                            ACT 34+ (SAT 1490+) – 3.5+ GPA

• Yearly scholarships awarded: 4

• Requirements:

  • Must compete in annual scholarship competition
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Strong Christian character

• Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA

 

Chancellor's Scholarship ($12,750)

• ACT/SAT & GPA Criteria:  ACT 29 (SAT 1280) – 3.7+ GPA
                                            ACT 30/31 (SAT 1330-1390) – 3.5+ GPA
                                            ACT 32/33 (SAT 1400-1480) – 3.4+ GPA
                                            ACT 34+ (SAT 1490+) – 3.2+ GPA

• Yearly scholarships awarded: 45

• Requirements:

  • Must compete in annual scholarship competition
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Strong Christian character

• Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA

 

Excellence in Engineering Award ($11,500)

• ACT or SAT min: ACT 27 (Math 25) / SAT 1210 (Math 620)

• Yearly scholarships awarded: 12

• Requirements:

  • Must compete in annual scholarship competition
  • Entering freshman engineering major                            

• Renewal: 3.0 GPA

*Cannot be combined with Leadership Scholarship.
