King Foundation Scholarship
The King Foundation honors the memory of Carl B. and Florence E. King, whose lives were marked by compassion, and generosity. As they prospered, they believed in giving back for the betterment of individuals, communities, and society. The current funding interests of the Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation are aging population, children and youth, the indigent, and education. 31% of grants awarded per year are awarded toward education.
Since 1972, the Foundation has sponsored funded scholarships at JBU for deserving students who demonstrate scholastic and personal excellence.
Student recipients will be selected by the JBU Financial Aid Office and must meet specific criteria in order to receive the King Foundation Scholarship, as follows:
- Students must qualify for the award through a competitive selection process;
- Students must maintain a course load of 15 hours each semester as well as a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for scholarship retention; and
- Students must write detailed letters to the Foundations on an annual basis as well as upon graduation.
An application must be completed if you believe you may qualify for consideration as a King Foundation scholarship recipient. All applications will be reviewed and awards determined by the JBU Financial Aid Office. The filing of an application does not guarantee that an award will be issued as this is a competitive selection process with limited scholarships available.
