Completed Project Goals
The founder's original vision for these three historic buildings was successfully completed in October 2008. This vision included facing the exterior walls with the limestone set out in the original design. The completed renovations updated the structural integrity of the three buildings, bringing them into the 21st century.
The completed project brought about the following key renovations:
- Cleaned and sealed the concrete blocks, then cladded them in 1”- 1.5” limestone veneer.
- Fixed the roofs of all three buildings
- Replaced the HVAC systems in the Cathedral & Engineering buildings
- Restored the stained glass windows
"Within the walls
of these buildings, JBU lives out its spiritual, academic, and civic commitments
by offering collective worship, public debate and performance, class-room instruction,
student and faculty research, and personal mentoring. Preserving these facilities
helps us to preserve our mission."
