Cathedral Group Memories
"I remember expecting chapel time to rest my mind and soul in the middle of the day and week. I have encountered God through the different services and have many memories of God touching my heart in them. The 24 hour worship service helped me to open my eyes to a new life style!"

"The cathedral has really meant so much to me. One of my most favorite memories is from being in the Cathedral choir. Every year at Christmas time, the Cathedral choir decorates the Cathedral for Candlelight. I love this time, because it gives us as a choir the chance to grow, but it also gives me some pride to know that I was partly responsible for making the Cathedral look so beautiful. It gives me more of a sense of ownership and a sense of really belonging here at this school. It drives me to perform even better and really sing out to God. Candlelight itself is truly a moving event. Every time that we sing "Silent Night" and get to the part where we raise our candles and all sing together, my whole body gets the chills. God's presence can truly be felt at this moment in time. These are my most fond memories that have to do with the Cathedral and being here at JBU."

"I remember when I came to JBU as a prospective student. I attended a Sunday night chapel in the Cathedral and was really moved by seeing everyone worship as a student body. It was at that moment that I knew that God wanted me to spend the next four years at JBU."

"I may be a senior now, but I had my most powerful encounter with God in the Cathedral as a freshman. I think it was maybe the first or second Sunday Gathering, and I was there singing my heart out. The music, the lighting, the people, and the overall sense of God's presence and pleasure was so overpowering that I began to cry. I didn't stop singing though. Through my tears of joy, I still gave my all to my King. The environment of the Cathedral is one of immense power and invitation. John Brown University would not be the same if the Cathedral of the Ozarks weren't part of it. That moment of joy and tears inside of its walls will stay with me forever."

"I have so many stories to share regarding the cathedral buildings! It is there that I worshipped, was asked out on a date by my husband, inspired by speakers, convicted of sin, and grew in my faith. My husband and I have been so blessed by the ministry of JBU. We hope that one day our children will experience what we did as students at JBU. It is a blessing to be a part of this great institution."
