Julie Murray is an experienced ethics and compliance practitioner and academic. Her professional experience also includes a career with Walmart, where she designed the overall strategy of the Global Ethics Office. This included creating and implementing a cross-cultural communication and education program that reached more than 2 million employees worldwide. She also managed the analysis of the helpline and case management data as well as the quarterly report to the audit committee of the Board of Directors. She is currently the Principal for Ethics and Compliance Practice at the Solutions House.
She has served as co-chair of the Retail and Consumer Products Industry Benchmarking Group of the Ethics and Compliance Officer Association and as a Fellow at the Ethics Resource Center. She has been a guest speaker for ethics and compliance organizations and events including the ECOA, The Conference Board and The Anti-Corruption Summit.
Julie views teaching as a way to give back to the university that provided her such amazing growth opportunities such as spending a week in Guatemala serving others by facilitating leadership workshops and working with the homeless. Her hope is that, through her classes, she can share this belief of servant leadership with her students and provide them with the skills and knowledge to succeed in their chosen endeavors.
At JBU Julie teaches Corporate Governance & Ethics, Ethical Decisions in Organizations, and Global Leadership and Ethics.
