Larry D. Horton, Ph. D. is currently employed by Walmart in Bentonville, Arkansas.  As Senior Manager of Organizational Capability Development he holds responsibility for the design, development and delivery of Organizational Design, Continuous Improvement and Change Management skill development for associates across Walmart's global operations.

Holding degrees from Grove City College (BA History), Asbury Theological Seminary (M. Div., concentration in Old Testament studies) and Michigan State University (Ph. D., Non-traditional learning and development - with an international concentration) Dr. Horton has been involved in international development since the mid-1970s.  He was first a missionary educator in Taichung, Taiwan, teaching at the Central Taiwan Theological Seminary and then within the business world with companies such as Lincoln National Group, British Petroleum, and now Walmart.  For 12 years during his career Larry was owner and partner within 2 boutique consulting firms.  He has had the opportunity to work across the globe, e.g., Asia, Europe, South and Central America through his business career as well.

Larry has also had an active adjunct faculty career at several small universities, including St Francis University, Tri-State University in Indiana and now with John Brown University.  He has taught both undergraduate and graduate level courses such as Strategic Management, Organizational Development, Human Resources and International Business.  His ability to speak Mandarin Chinese and long term involvement within the Chinese world adds a unique perspective to both his work and teaching.

John Brown University has provided Larry with the opportunity to combine his Christian training and faith with his desire to train and develop future leaders with an emphasis on an Asian - Chinese future.  To date teaching the "Overview of International/Global Business" at JBU has given him the opportunity to share 30 plus years of practical experience with those who will work in our changing world for many years to come.

In the end however the primary motivation for his teaching and working at any level is to help others combine their Christian faith with a realistic honest perspective on what is and will be required to succeed in any vocational career an individual may choose.
