Business Degree Completion

John Brown University seeks a faculty member to teach in the area of Business Degree Completion Programs in the Donald G. Soderquist College of Business. Responsibilities include but are not limited to engaging adult learners in a broad range of business and business-related areas in face-to-face, online, and hybrid settings. This position reports to the Associate Dean of the Donald G. Soderquist College of Business and will collaborate extensively with the Degree Completion Program Office, the Office of Distance Learning, and other campus entities involved in deployment of Business Degree Completion Programs. The position is housed on the main campus in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and will include teaching and travel to off-site locations. The position is full-time and full-year, beginning on July 1, 2014.
The Donald G. Soderquist College of Business offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in various formats. The Undergraduate Department of Business offers degrees (BS and BA) on the Siloam Springs campus in Accounting, Business Administration, International Business, Management, and Marketing. The undergraduate Degree Completion Program offers BS degrees in Organizational Management and in Business Administration. Graduate degrees include the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Leadership and Ethics (MS-LE), and the Master of Science in Higher Education Leadership (MS-LHE). MBA emphases include Leadership and Ethics, International Business, and Global Continuous Improvement. Delivery of degree completion and graduate programs is both on-site at locations in Arkansas and online. Collectively, the College of Business has the largest number of students at JBU with continuing growth in enrollment and diversity. Training leaders with integrity, character, and trustworthiness based on a Christ-centered model is a priority. All business programs of the Soderquist College are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
An earned doctorate with industry experience is strongly preferred; minimum of a masters degree is required. Qualification in functional areas such as economics, finance, accounting, and/or marketing is valued, and the opportunity exists to advance into program leadership. Candidates should have significant professional experience as well as effective teaching experience in higher education and in distance learning. Evidence of scholarly potential and a commitment to Christian higher education are essential.
