Guatemalan Studies Program

Dates: May 8 – June 6, 2010
Cost: $4,400
This is a 4-week, 6 credit hour program. Guatemala is a country that is rich in beauty, art, culture, and history. Although only the size of the state of Arkansas, more than 20 different indigenous languages are spoken, besides Spanish and English. From multinational businesses to street children, and from modern art to ancient ruins, Guatemala (the “land of eternal spring”) offers a wide range of academic study opportunities. The Guatemalan Summer Studies Program furthers the mission of JBU by providing a challenging academic program with a distinctly Christian worldview with opportunities to learn, share, and serve.
Courses Offered:
- HST 2111 Selected Topics: Language Lab (three hours)
Choose one of the following:
- HST 3413 (cross-listed as RPH 4483 and LDR 4133) – Ideas in Action: Considering History, Moral Philosophy, and Leadership (three hours)
- ECN 2533 – Economics and Society of Central America (three hours)
