Belize Creation Care

This semester long study program allows  students to examine sustainable development and tropical ecology through a Christian lens of creation care and stewardship by utilizing field studies in Belizean villages, tropical rainforests, mountain streams and Caribbean atolls. Students also have the opportunity to take part in interest-specific internship and practicum experiences with Belizean organizations seeking regeneration and renewal of the land and communities.

To be considered for the CCSP program you must have completed one full year of college study, have a 2.75 or higher GPA, and be approved as a good representative of your institution.

 

Courses Offered (choose 3):

Tropical Ecosystems—four hours (transfers in as BIO 4124—selected topics or fulfills core requirement for biological science)

God and Nature—four hours (transfers in as GSC 4133 Faith and Science)

Introduction to Sustainable Community Development—four hours (transfers in as ICS 3243—Principles & Philosophy of Community Development)—counts towards an intercultural studies minor

Environmental Literature—three hours (transfers in as EGL 4483 selected topics)

Internship—two hours (transfers in as BIO 4122 Biology Internship)
