Dr. Will Holmes joined the Engineering faculty in 2009. He received his bachelor's degree from Southern Nazarene University in 1994 and his Ph.D. in Materials Science from Washington State University in 1999. Prior to coming to John Brown, he spent ten years at Taylor University teaching Engineering. While there, he received over $175,000 in external funding as primary or co-investigator. He enjoys creating unique learning experiences for students by incorporating projects and research into his courses. He and his students have written fourteen successfully funded grants and given twenty presentations at regional, national and international conferences including a third place finish in an international student paper competition. Dr. Holmes and his wife, Carole, have one son and two daughters. Dr. Holmes enjoys spending time with his family including fishing, golfing, and playing "make-believe." In addition, he enjoys woodworking. Dr. Holmes is excited to teach in a Christian community where he can help his Christian brothers and sisters learn the high calling of being a Christian Engineer.
