John Brown University Swim Teams Finish 6th in Conference Meet
Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 21, 2004) — Both the men and women's swim teams from John Brown University collected 6th place finishes in the Liberal Arts Conference meet at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Golden Eagle women scored 334.5 points and the men had 291 as they both finished in the middle of the 12 team fields.
Although no JBU swimmers captured individual titles, The Golden Eagles did have several impressive performances. The women's 200 yard medley relay team of Jenny Brown, Stephanie Burrell, Kathleen Kubricht and Lindsey Smith swam to a third place finish in 1:55.77. Brown was third in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 5:06.96 and Kubricht took third in the 100 yard Butterfly with 1:02.03. Another third place finish by Mariah Rose came in the 200 yard Backstroke as she recorded a time of 2:20.15. The final third place finish was the 400-yard Freestyle Relay team of Burrell, Rose, Brown and Kubricht with 3:53.37.
The JBU men did not have any individual champions but were able to pick up one third place ribbon. Nik Hook swam 4:34.75 in the 400-yard Individual Medley for third place.
