Turkey hunt replaces manhunt
(March 29, 2004) — (Alread-AP) -- About the only hunting going on in the Alread area during the weekend involved turkeys. State police for the past week have been on the lookout for two men now wanted for shooting a trooper. Turkey hunters were on the mountain during the weekend, and state police say they restricted their work to keeping an eye out in case the two men tried to make a move. A week ago this morning, police went to the home of Mark Holsombach and William Frazier. Officers brought warrants, and also wanted to speak to the men about the disappearance of an Alread couple. Shots were fired, and a trooper suffered a minor wound. Turkey hunters were advised to stay away from the area where officers had been searching for the pair. State police say they that, during the weekend, they had no trouble with the turkey hunters, and no sign of the men.
