(March 31, 2004) - (Little Rock-AP) -- Arkansas ranks near the bottom on several lists produced by a group that ranks states on their ability to succeed in a technology-led information age. Only Mississippi trails Arkansas in the rankings from the Milken Institute, which released data today on factors it says will benefit technology-based economic development. Arkansas ranked last on research and development, 42nd on risk capital and entrepreneurial infrastructure, 46th on human capital investment, 49th on technology and science workforce and 44th on technology concentration and dynamism. Arkansas had its highest score for recent investment. Massachusetts led the list and was followed by California, then Colorado.
