(April 7, 2004) - (El Dorado-AP) -- President Bush says a rebounding national economy will produce an abundance of new jobs - for workers properly trained to take them. Job training was the theme of Bush's visit to El Dorado yesterday, the first time a sitting president has visited the city. Bush told about 800 people crowded into a South Arkansas Community College gymnasium that this is a hopeful time. The president, leading a panel discussion on job training and the economy, said in Arkansas alone, computer- and math-related jobs will grow by 60 percent and health care and technical jobs by 40 percent by the year 2010. But he said there must be people prepared to fill those jobs. Bush stressed public and private-sector partnerships that offer educational and training opportunities for non-traditional students and displaced workers.
