Bella Vista memorial to honor all veterans

(June 1, 2004) — (Bella Vista-AP) -- A veterans memorial planned for northwest Arkansas won't commemorate the dead of any particular war. Instead, the memorial at a park in Bella Vista will honor all of American military history. Organizers say it should be ready by early fall. Veterans Council of Bella Vista director Arthur Leu said the 450-thousand dollar Veterans Wall of Honor is about 80-percent paid for by contributions. About 60 percent of the space on stone tablets has already been reserved for about 34-hundred veterans' names. The names are being supplied by paid contributors and represent every U-S war since 1776.
