Decision a year away on 412 bypass
(June 30, 2004) — (Lowell-AP) -- Highway officials say they're still a year away from choosing a definite route for a Route Four-Twelve bypass of Springdale, but many at a public hearing last night were convinced that they would pick a the northern route. Supporters of that plan said that bypassing Springdale to the north on Highway 412 would be the best for continuing the city's phenomenal growth. Even opponents are basically convinced that the northern route will be chosen. Joyce Alley and Katherine Patton say their hundred-year-old family farm would be destroyed by the plan, but were starting to accept that as the most likely scenario.
