Highway construction less daunting this 4th

(June 30, 2004) - (Little Rock-AP) -- Arkansas' interstate highways will have fewer miles affected by lane closures during the July Fourth holiday weekend than the past two years, according to the state highway department. There will be 15 miles reduced to one lane, compared to 24 miles in 2003 and 70 during the 2002 July Fourth holiday. Lane closure locations include: one mile on I-540 north of Alma; 12 miles on I-40 near Ozark and Clarksville; one mile on I-40 east of Forrest City; and one mile on I-30 at Malvern.
