JBU Theater Workshop Presents "Wit"

Siloam Springs, Ark (October 4, 2002) — John Brown University’s theater workshop will present a production of Margaret Edson’s “Wit” Oct. 10-13 in the Jones Recital Hall on the campus of John Brown University.

JBU student Laura Shank plays the lead role of Vivian, a college English professor specializing in the metaphysical poetry of John Donne. At the height of Vivian’s career, she is diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Through subtle humor and frank personality, Vivian reminds the audience, and herself, that people are more important than professions.

“This play is intended to challenge the audience to assess their priorities,” said Jason Hough, JBU instructor of communications and drama, and the director of the play.

The play will run Thurs., Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 13 and will include the following show times: Thursday, Oct. 10, 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11 ‘Moonlight Madness,’ 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12 matinee, 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13 matinee, 3 p.m. General admission is $7 for adults, $3 for students and $5 for senior adults over the age of 60.
