JBU Swimmers Post Win Against Hendrix
Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 25, 2004) — The JBU swim teams both posted wins against Hendrix College Saturday in Siloam Springs. The women won with a 134-91 advantage, and the men with a 113-111 advantage. This was the first win of the season for the men’s team.
The women went 1,2,3 in the 200 free and the 100 backstroke. Kathleen Kubricht and Christy Eye went 1, 2 in the 100 butterfly. Josh Hughes placed first in the men's 100 butterfly and Josh Hughes placed first in the 50 freestyle.
The number of qualifiers for the NAIA Nationals meet was also added to during the meet. The women’s 800 free relay of Jenny Brown, Becca Camfield, Canda Cottrill, and Mariah Rose qualified for nationals with a time of 8:57.88. Jenny Brown and Gabby McCully qualified in the 400 IM with times of 5:16.25 and 5:08.74 respectively. Also qualifying was Kathleen Kubricht and Ashley Kenline in the 50 free, tying at 26.22; Gabby McCully in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.79; and the men’s 200 medley relay made up of Richard Bartels, Dusty Woodson, Josh Hughes, and Tyler Cook with a time of 1:49.89.
JBU now has all five women’s relays qualified, one men’s relay, and five individuals qualified in nine individual events.
