Dr. Jim Worthington Appointed JBU VPof Academic Affairs

Siloam Springs, Ark (July 3, 2001) — Dr. Jim Worthington has been appointed Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty at John Brown University.

Prior to his appointment as Vice President, Worthington served as dean of graduate studies and professor of education at JBU. During his tenure at JBU, he has also served as chair of the division of teacher education. Prior to his employment at JBU, he served as dean of the School of Education at Seattle Pacific University for 14 years after chairing the division of education and psychology at Houghton College for seven years.

“Dr. Worthington is superbly qualified as a servant-leader of faculty and senior academic administrator in private, Christian higher education,” said JBU President Dr. Lee Balzer.

Dr. Worthington and his wife Carol, live in Siloam Springs and are the parents of three adult children.
