Cole Has Record Setting Game As JBU Beats St. Gregory’s

Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 19, 2005) — Brandon Cole moved up to third place in the “career most points scored by a JBU player” category and tied the record for most three’s made in single game (9) Saturday afternoon as the Golden Eagles (7-8, 16-10) topped the St. Gregory’s Cavaliers 72-54.

The Golden Eagles led all of the game except for one tie that came early in the first half. The Cavaliers kept JBU close in the first half as the teams went to halftime with JBU up 35-33. But the Golden Eagles were too much in the second half, as they went on a 24-2 run to start the half. Cole had his ninth three pointer at the 16:43 mark, but was unable to get another three to fall to break the school record.

Cole added two free throws and a field goal to his 9/17 from three point land to lead scoring with 31. He also had eight rebounds to lead the team. Ryan Woodson and Reyjavick De Gracia both had eight points for the night.

JBU will play its final home game Monday night against Oklahoma Baptist. Game time is 8:00 p.m.
