ATHLETES GEAR UP FOR FALL SPORTS

Siloam Springs, Ark. (August 10, 2006) — With summer vacation coming to an end, John Brown University is getting ready for the start of fall sports. Players from volleyball, and men's and women's soccer returned to campus Thursday, and look to begin pre-season two a day practices on Friday. The coaches are ready to begin and excited about their returning players and the new players coming in.

"We are optimistic that our roster can bring JBU back to the top of the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC)," said Bob Gustavson, Head Men's Soccer Coach.

Head Women's Soccer Coach Joe Thoma added, "Repeating as regular season Sooner Athletic Conference Champions will be a tremendous challenge, but it is one of the team's goals for the season."

Thoma looks to build on a 2005 season that saw women's soccer receiving a first ever NAIA National Tournament bid.

New Athletic Director and Head Women's Volleyball Coach, Robyn Gordon, is extremely optimistic about the upcoming year for all sports. Her 2006 volleyball squad will be quarterbacked by returning All-American Honorable Mention, senior Juliana Todescan.
