Women’s Soccer Ranked High in Preseason Polls
Siloam Springs, Ark. (August 22, 2006) — John Brown University women's soccer team is ranked 12th in the nation in preseason polls.
However, the news didn’t come as a surprise to Head Coach Joe Thoma.
Thoma commented, “It was expected based on last year’s record, but it definitely raises the expectations of our team and is certainly an honor.”
Thoma’s 2006 team hopes to build on last year’s success. The team finished with a record of 13-7-1 in 2005, and also made the first ever NAIA national tournament appearance in JBU women’s soccer history. John Brown opens up the season on August 25th when they travel to Tulsa, OK to compete against NCAA Division I opponent, Oral Roberts University.
