Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 12, 2006) - The John Brown University Golden Eagles earned their second win of the season Tuesday night, defeating Ouachita Baptist 3-1. The Golden Eagles (2-9) lost the opening set 26-30, but battled back claiming the following three sets 30-21, 30-28, 30-26.
“The girls played extremely well,” commented head coach Robyn Gordon. “They started to gel out there, and it was fun to watch.”
Juliana Todescan scored 15 kills, 42 assists, and contributed 5 blocks in the victory. Samantha Rogoff also added 13 kills and 5 blocks, and senior Brittany Moon had 11 kills and 14 digs.
This upcoming weekend, John Brown travels to Olathe, Kan. to compete in the Mid-America Nazarene Tournament. The team will face Bethel (Ind.) at 1 p.m. Friday, Southwestern (Kan.) at 3 p.m., and Kansas Wesleyan at 7 p.m. On Saturday they are up against Dana (Neb.) at 9 a.m. and Indiana Wesleyan at 1 p.m.
