VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS REGION VI CHALLENGE

Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 23, 2006) — Women's volleyball ran the table during day two of the Region VI Challenge in Lubbock, Tex., and finished undefeated after the two day event.

In their first match today, John Brown defeated conference opponent Wayland Baptist in three games, 30-24, 30-16, 31-29.

In match number two, John Brown held off Texas-Brownsville defeating them 3-2. Head Coach Robyn Gordon said this was a tough opponent but the team was able to pull it together. “It was good to see so many people step up,” said Gordon. “Texas-Brownville was a very good team, but we were fortunate to get the win.”

Sam Rogoff’s 26 kills and seven blocks was a team high, and sophomore Laurae Marty followed close behind with 25 kills of her own. Brittany Moon added 20 kills and four blocks, and Summer Cox had 15 kills and five blocks. Senior Juliana Todescan totaled 13 kills, 84 assists and 30 digs, and Rachel Melby served up 10 aces.

On day one, John Brown defeated Lubbock Christian 3-1, and College of Southwest 3-0.

John Brown (9-11) returns home this Tuesday to face College of the Ozarks at 7:00.
