Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 8, 2006) - Swimming faced their first NAIA competition over the weekend in St. Louis, Mo. In the quad meet that consisted of Webster (St. Louis, Mo.), Lindenwood (St. Charles, Mo.), and Stephens (Columbia, Mo.), John Brown saw several swimmers qualify for national competition.
The 200 free relay made up of Martha Alford, Gabe Ives, Gabby McCully, and Ashley Kenline qualified in their event, and McCully qualified in the mile and the 500 free. Ives swam a personal best in the mile and also qualified for the event.
“It was a very fast pool and the competition was good,” said head coach Anna Olander. “We rose to their level and really swam well. We still have things to work on, so it is good that our season is long.”
John Brown competes this Friday and Saturday at Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Ark. At 2:30 p.m.
