Women Fall to Lady Cougars
Siloam Springs, Ark. (December 9, 2006) — John Brown University women’s basketball team fell on the road 79-66 to Columbia (Mo.) on Saturday night. John Brown (3-8) went into the half down 37-31, and was unable to cut into the Cougar lead during the second half. The Lady Cougars' Amber Lewellen led all scorers with 26 points, and Nancy Pierre paced the Lady Golden Eagles with 20 points after shooting 3-for-5 from long range.
John Brown shot 36% (21-58) for the game including 29% (7-24) from 3-point range. Columbia, on the other hand, was able to convert 46% (28-60) of their field goal attempts.
John Brown will be off for the Christmas Holidays and will return to action on Jan. 4 against conference opponent, St. Gregory’s (Okla.).
