Swimming Records Personal Best Times at Nationals
Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 8, 2007) — After three days of competition, the John Brown University women's swim team returned home from Nationals after several swimmers recorded personal best times in several events.
Freshman Maddie Breeden, junior Ashley Kenline, sophomore Martha Alford, sophomore Gabe Ives, and junior Gabby McCully each qualified for the national meet earlier this season.
John Brown had nine best times during the meet. Events results are below.
Martha Alford - 50 free and 100 free
Gabe Ives - 100 back 1:08.44 - 18th place
Ashley Kenline - 50 free 25.83 - 26th place 100 free 56.48 - 25th place 200 free
Gabby McCully - 500 Free 5:28.78 - 19th place 1650 free (1 mile) 19:04.68 - 11th place 400 IM 4:54.20 - 11th place
In the relay events there were season best times in five events.
200 Medley (Ives, McCully, Alford, Kenline) 1:59.06 - 12th place
400 Medley (Ives, McCully, Alford, Kenline) 4:27.08 - 11th place
200 Free (Alford, Ives, McCully, Kenline) 1:46.78 - 13th place
400 Free (Alford, Ives, McCully, Kenline) 3:52.81 - 11th place - 15 second time drop from regular season
800 Free (Kenline, Breeden, Ives, McCully) 8:35.43 - 11th place
