Siloam Springs, Ark (February 29, 2000) - John Brown University is pleased to announce that Jairin Schrader of Lincoln Christian High School (Lincoln, NE) has committed to play volleyball beginning in the Fall of 2000. Jairin is a 5’10" outside hitter who excels on and off the court.
Jairin holds a 4.0 GPA and is ranked first in her class. She has received many athletic and academic awards throughout her high school years and was named Homecoming Queen this year.
"Jairin is an all around great person. She excels in the classroom and on the court. She will be an asset to the entire John Brown University campus. I believe Jairin will make a great contributions to JBU volleyball. She has been coached very well and we look forward to having her join us," said head coach Robyn Gordon.
The Golden Eagles return five starters from 1999’s team. JBU finished with a record of 28-13 and a second place finish in the Region. JBU is a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference and competes in Region VI of the NAIA.
Jairin’s awards during her senior year include: First Team All-Conference, 2nd Team All-City, Who’s Who in Sports, All-American Scholar, Athletic Achiever and Who’s Who in Academics. She is a member of the National Honor Society and active in Student Council. Jairin has been invited to Hawaii to play against some international teams and other US teams this summer.
