Texan Twins Commit to Men's Basketball
Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 17, 2008) — Thomas and Abel Galliguez, a pair of 5-8 twin point guards from Fort Bend Dulles High School in Sugarland, Texas, have signed national letters of intent to play men’s basketball at JBU in the fall.
Both were instrumental in the success of Fort Bend Dulles over the course of their high school careers, and as seniors, they led Fort Bend Dulles to the Texas 5A-State Championship game, while finishing with a 34-5 record.
“They are both extremely competitive and skilled students of the game who will be a great addition to the John Brown University men’s basketball program,” said head coach Clark Sheehy.
During his senior campaign, Abel averaged 15 points per game including 37% from three-point range. At the end of the year, he was selected to be a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Game.
Thomas also had an impressive season averaging 10 points per game, while shooting 39% from beyond the arc. At the end of the year, he was selected to me a member of the Houston Area Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game.
Also known for their defensive prowess, both took over 100 charges in their high school career.
