Women Tie, Men Fall

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 18, 2008) — Both JBU soccer teams were in action on Saturday afternoon against Southern Nazarene (Okla.). In the early match, the JBU women finished tied 0-0. In the late match, the men dropped a 3-1 decision against the NAIA’s 3rd ranked Crimson Storm.

In women’s action, the women remained deadlocked after 110 minutes of play.

Overall JBU (9-4-1) outshot SNU (9-1-3) 18-8 with an 8-2 shot on goal differential. In the SAC standings, JBU sits in the third place behind No. 1 Oklahoma City and No. 2 Southern Nazarene.

Up next, the women travel to Shawnee, Okla. to face Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

In the men’s game, JBU’s lone goal came in the 31st minute after junior defender Nick Robbins blasted a shot from 35 yards out pass a diving SNU keeper. However, Robbins’ goal wasn’t enough as SNU tripled the Golden Eagle output.

Overall, JBU (6-5-1) outshot SNU (8-2-1) 21-11 with a 7-5 shot on goal differential. In the SAC standings, JBU sits in sixth place.
