Women’s Basketball Signs West Fork Native

Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 19, 2008) — Jordyn Ferrell, a 5-9 guard/forward combo from West Fork, Ark., has signed a national letter of intent to play women’s basketball at JBU next season.

Ferrell, who is the daughter of Kelly and David Ferrell, West Fork’s senior boy’s basketball coach and athletic director, averaged 24.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game to lead West Fork last season.

Head coach Jeff Soderquist said that he’s excited to have Ferrell join the team and knows her athleticism will help the team both offensively and defensively.

“We are very happy to have Jordyn join our program,” said Soderquist. “She has become one of the best scorers in the area and maybe the state, and she is a tremendous athlete, which will make her a good defender in our system.”
