JBU to Hold Fall Commencement Ceremony December 20
Siloam Springs, Ark. (December 15, 2008) — John Brown University will hold its fall commencement ceremony on Dec. 20 at 10:00 a.m. in the Walton Lifetime Health Complex on the campus of John Brown University. Dr. Richard C. Chewning is the Distinguished Scholar in Residence at John Brown University and will deliver the commencement address. He is an emeritus Chavanne Professor of Christian Ethics in Business from Baylor University. He received baccalaureate, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, the University of Virginia, and the University of Washington, respectively. He began formal academic training in business ethics and corporate social responsibility as a doctoral student and pursued postdoctoral study in comparative ethics at St. Mary’s College, the seminary arm of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. The fall 2008 graduating class at John Brown University includes 85 candidates for master’s degrees and 205 candidates for bachelor’s degrees.
