Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 30, 2009) — Sasha Viatrov, a 5-8 midfielder from Gomel, Belarus, has verbally committed to play men’s soccer for John Brown University in the fall.

Viatrov heads to JBU after playing the last two seasons at NAIA Divison I Covenant College (Ga.).

During the 2008 season, he tallied four goals and several key assists while helping Covenant reach the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) conference final. And in 2007, he earned 2nd Team All-AAC honors after scoring six goals en route to an AAC regular season title and Region XII championship run.

JBU head men’s soccer coach John Miglarese said that he’s happy to have Viatrov join the program and anticipates he’ll help the time right away.

"I am pleased to add Sasha to our team,” said Miglarese, “And I expect him to make an immediate impact on the field next fall.
