Tennis closes out year
Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 20, 2009) — The JBU men's and women's tennis teams concluded their seasons on Saturday after they both fell in semifinal action of the NAIA's Unaffiliated Regional 3 and 4 Tournaments.
The men had a strong showing on day one defeating Oklahoma Wesleyan 5-3, but fell 5-0 on day two to Oklahoma Christian to close out the year at 4-11.
The women defeated Our Lady of the Lakes (Texas) to advance against Southern Nazarene, but the Lady Crimson Storm where too much to handle and eliminated JBU 5-0. The women finish out the year with a 7-12 record.
Head tennis coach Robert Walker said that he's proud of what his team accomplished this year, and is looking forward to the future of JBU tennis.
"This is the first time in a while that we've advanced past the first round of regional play," said Walker. "So, I'm definitely pleased with what the teams accomplished this year and I look forward to improving in the future."
