Shawnee, Okla. (September 23, 2009) — The JBU women’s volleyball squad picked up their first win in conference play on Tuesday night after cruising by St. Gregory’s (Okla.) 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-13). The Golden Eagles are now 13-2 overall and 1-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Senior Christi Newton picked up 10 kills on the night followed by freshman Erin Didier with nine. Junior setter Alyssa Hanson tallied 13 assists.

Up next, the ladies return home to face a No. 17 Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday night at 7 p.m. Oklahoma Baptist is coming in on a 10 game winning streak and is currently ranked number two in the SAC with a 15-3 overall record.
