Women's soccer rolls over OC

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 27, 2009) — The JBU women’s soccer team moved to 8-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and 11-5 overall after defeating the Eagles of Oklahoma Christian 3-1 at home on Tuesday afternoon.

Three different players netted goals for JBU on the day. Jodi Knack scored unassisted on a breakaway in the 18th minute followed by Robyn Cluka’s goal off a scramble in the box nearly 10 minutes later. Alex McMichael capped of the Golden Eagle assault after scoring off the penalty kick after OC’s goalie was called for a foul in the box.

OC (8-6-2, 2-5-1) put a stop to the JBU shutout attempt after India Farr put away the assist from Kacie Hoppe in the 59th minute to put the Eagles on the board.

OC made several attempts to shorten the gap down the stretch but couldn’t capitalize an any attempts.

JBU outshot OC 11-9 with a 9-4 shots on goal advantage.

Faith Thurman collected three saves for JBU, while Allie Coffer picked up six for the Eagles.

JBU closes out the regular season at home on Saturday when they face Northwestern Okla. State at 2 p.m.
