Golf competes in Patriot Invitational

Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 31, 2010) — The JBU men’s golf team finished 20th of 20 teams in the two-day DBU Patriot Invitational hosted by Dallas Baptist at The Golf Club of Dallas on March 29-30. The team shot a two-day, three-round total of 986 (+146) on the par 70, 7,010-yard traditional course.

Midwestern State (Texas) won the invitational with a score of 878 after defeating Oklahoma City in a playoff.

Individually, sophomore West Loveland topped the JBU performances with a 26-over par 236. He finished tied for 82nd. Freshman Taylor Mullings shot a 240 (+30) to tie for 92nd, and sophomore Matt Brooker finished with a 43-over 253. Junior Jeff Hobble and freshman Nathan Sudheimer rounded out the scoring for JBU with a 259 and 262 respectively.

Dallas Baptist’s Will Dusenbury won the invitational after shooting 211 (+1).

The JBU men will return to competition on April 12-13 when they participate in the U.C. Ferguson Classic hosted by Oklahoma City University.
