Ladies down OWU, while men fall
Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 13, 2010) — The JBU men’s and women’s tennis teams went 1-1 against Oklahoma Wesleyan on Monday afternoon. The women defeated OWU 8-1 to move to 7-6 on the year, while the men dropped to 2-10 overall after losing 1-8.
Audrey Phillips and Emily Caneday led the ladies in doubles action with an 8-4 win followed by Christine Starch and Carrie Bogdanoff with the 8-5 win and Margo Smith and Danielle Dye with an 8-4 win.
Caneday also picked up a win in singles action followed by Starch, Bogdanoff, Smith, and Christine McPherson.
Tim Meyer picked up the lone win on the men’s side after defeating Walter Hoyos 6-1, 1-6 (10-8) in singles action.
The women return to action on Tuesday afternoon against Southern Nazarene (Okla.) at 2 p.m. Both teams will also head back to the courts at home on Saturday against University of the Southwest (N.M.) at 9 a.m. and Le Tourneau (Texas) at 4:30 p.m.
