Engaged Couples Seminar Coming to Bentonville
Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 27, 2010) — Northwest Arkansas Healthy Marriages, a community service of the Center for Relationship Enrichment (CRE), will offer a seminar for engaged and committed dating couples on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel & Convention Center in Bentonville. The event is $29 per couple and reservations are required.
Jackson Dunn, premarital program coordinator for NWA Healthy Marriages and Erin Smalley, premarital educator for NWA Healthy Marriages, will speak on the skills needed for a lifelong marriage. Topics include healthy communication, conflict management, marriage expectations and financial management.
“Couples who complete a premarital training course like the one offered by NWA Healthy Marriages are 80 percent more likely to stay together than couples who receive no training,” said Jackson Dunn, premarital program coordinator for NWA Healthy Marriages.

NWA Healthy Marriages was created by the Center for Relationship Enrichment with funding from a five year grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services to help improve the marriages in Northwest Arkansas. NWA Marriages provides training both for premarital couples as well as married couples through training events and small group opportunities. The Center for Relationship Enrichment at John Brown University was founded in 1998. The Center’s mission is to educate, equip and enrich people for developing healthy relationships through consulting, education, enrichment, resources, research and assessment. The CRE offers marriage preparation, marriage enrichment and relationships skills services to all of Northwest Arkansas.
